Life Project

Pandemic emergencies lead Byelo to reactivate the Life Project.

  • Feeding was the biggest challenge for the poor families during the last lockdown. Some households had one meal a day which was certainly not enough and of very poor quality. Food and medical support was properly planned and distributed to a great number of families who are critically vulnerable due to the lack of food and non-food items.
  • The family of Christine, already a beneficiary of our project ‘Land for Christine’ (view website) was forced to live under unacceptable conditions, in spite of our constant support. She and her children had to face serious threats and violence so that we decided they had to move to another district. Byelo decided to transfer to her and her family the land which was intended for Geoffrey (who died in 2019). Our representative Winny Akullu followed up the whole process, the solid fencing of the land and the building of a new house. The family has happily moved to the new home with the blessing of Rev. Father Ronald Okot. Photo.
